It’s not just about sourcing and retaining organic produce from the hills of Uttarakhand. At Vnya, from the delivery chains to the waste after consumption and even the medium of transport — all done as sustainably and waste-free as possible.

Our habits make our habitat, and Vnya is the no-brainer first step towards healthier habits for you and the planet that hosts you.

A local organic grocery and lifestyle brand, Vnya’s major philosophies revolve around producing clean food that doesn’t hurt anyone along the way. From eliminating waste to ensuring maximum recycling, these products are organic, healthy, sustainable and socially friendly.

Since their origin in March 2020, the pandemic hasn’t come in the way of the brand’s dedication to revolutionise agricultural production. Most of Vnya’s products originate from the hills of Uttarakhand, with all of it coming from as close to the source as possible. Where it isn’t, they’re committed to keeping the chain clean and waste-free, therefore championing seasonal produce at its finest.

Vnya, meaning ‘of the wild’, befittingly caters to making optimum use of different aspects of the forest and planet respectively. The brand is a perfect fit for those looking at natural foods that are pollution-free. As such, the produce retains immense natural benefits as it travels directly from the soil, coming from the regions best suited to grow the produce.

The category and product portfolio comprises all grocery items from organic rice, pulses, spices to fresh fruits & vegetables. You’ll also find lifestyle products like Buransh and malta squash, a variety of incense, essential oils, superfoods, etc. that are rich in nutrients and antioxidants. Available both at their store in Mumbai as well as on the website, they’re soon to debut in Goa as well!

While most brands talk sustainability, Vnya sets itself apart by walking the walk. People can drop off their clean dry waste which is forwarded for recycling purposes. The brand works in tandem with local waste collectors in the vicinity. The selling of this recyclable waste in turn generates income for them, and also helps the brand maintain a completely zero waste grocery store. At their Mumbai location, you can also spot a composting facility.

Co-founder of Vnya, Supriya Sarin opines, “We believe in healing the environment by creating a waste-free ‘farm to plate’ ecosystem. We sell only what we consume ourselves as we believe, the food we eat directly impacts how we feel. Making clean foods accessible for all is our brand mission. We support over 4000 farmers from remote areas across the country and handpick our products based on ethical farming principles & cruelty-free processes. Our produce is not only free of any harmful chemicals, pollutants or residues, it is also free of adulteration.”

As part of their Cook with Vnya initiative, the brand recently led an enthusiastic bunch through preparing an authentic and organic Pahadi brunch. Co-hosted by award-winning author Sonal Ved and Chef Juliano Rodriguez, the produce sent ahead of time consisted of all things organic, grown by Vnya’s family of farmers. Using interesting ingredients like Bhat ki Dal, Hemp oil, rich premium chocolate, and house made orange marmalades, you’re guaranteed a healthy yet entirely too delicious brunch.

It takes a holistic approach and sincere commitment to make a sustainable change. Vnya attempts exactly that, urging customers to change their habits such that it sends a ripple effect through the environment, farmers and effectively the entire ecosystem.
