To resonate with their brand vision, Niraamaya Wellness Retreats’s newest menu celebrates the flavours from all the coastal regions of Kerala. Paired with the health principles of Ayurveda, the award-winning wellness retreats have collaborated with several chefs to create inspiring traditional dishes with an innovative touch.

Speaking of their new menu, Allen Machado, the Chief Executive Officer says, “Food is no longer a means to an end; it has become an art form. These are recognized all over the world in their local avatars and have inspired us to capture and showcase them in this new menu.”

The dishes featured in the new menu include many local favourites such as Karimeen Pollichathu, which is fish infused with kokum or lemon, and Mappas, a coriander-based dish that comes with a vegetarian variation. Other widely known dishes that have been given a contemporary twist include the Travancore King Fish Curry, Squid Pepper, Hibiscus Granita, and Backed Jackfruit Cheesecake.

To focus on Ayurvedic food, the chefs have created signature dishes such as Venbanad Muringakka Thengapal Soup (Drumstick and coconut milk soup) and Muthira Parippi Curry (mustard and garlic tempered horse gram curry).

These dishes aim to offer medicinal food without compromising on the taste quotient to guests who are part of the retreats’ Ayurvedic and Yoga-based programmes. To help them replenish their mind, body, and spirit, the chefs at Niraamaya Retreats combine age-old techniques of cooking to deliver food that is high in nutrition.

To that extent, their kitchens use organic in-house ingredients that are roasted, powdered, and prepared for a flavour-packed experience. They also source an array of medicinal herbs and vegetables such as galangal, micro greens, red spinach, basil, snake gourd, chillies, papaya, cabbage, and tomatoes among others from their own gardens.

Executive Chef Prakash Nayak says, “Niraamaya Retreats has been the custodian of traditional regional gastronomy of Kerala, and we are delighted to offer a taste of this local heaven targeting global food connoisseurs who appreciate authentic flavours while on their worldly travels.”

The retreats are now ready to take their guests on a journey to experience the true essence of hospitality and wellness by unlocking the destinations’ magnificent cultural and culinary heritage. Their new menu is available along with their international menu at ‘Café Samsara’ throughout the day. At ‘Essence’, the pan Asian restaurants in Kovalam, Kumarakom, and Athirappily, there are a lot more delicacies to experience along with their new menu.
