If travelling to Finland has always been your dream but long-haul connecting flights stopped you before, it’s finally time to book those tickets. Finnair, the country’s official flag carrier, has launched regular direct flights between Mumbai and Helsinki starting July this year. Ticket sales starts on Apr 5, 2022.

The airline will be operating the Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft thrice a week i.e. Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. With this, Mumbai becomes the airline’s second Indian destination, after New Delhi. The airline operates to about 70 destinations in Europe, and five American destinations.

Helsinki Airport has recently gone through an extensive renovation, fitted with services and features that aim to make transit to other destinations smooth and easy for foreign travellers, especially from Asia.

Commenting on the new route, Desmond Chacko – General Manager, Finnair, said, “As the world opens up to travel, it is an opportune time to expand operations and enable better connectivity for our customers. After Delhi, Mumbai is a major airline hub in India and is home to leading global businesses. Our new services will enable both business & leisure travel from the region as global economies gradually recover from the impact of the COVID-19.”

Recently, Finland named as the happiest country in the world for the fifth year in a row by the World Happiness Report 2022. Breathtaking landscapes, abundant nature, a laid-back way of life, low crime levels, and high standard of living further make it an ideal destination to fly to, this season.
