Moonstone Hammock is setting up a first-of-its-kind flea market at its premium campsite between Mumbai and Pune this weekend.
You’ve heard of camping and glamping, but what do you call a camping experience where you can also shop until you drop? Could we coin a new word for it – shomping – now that Moonstone Hammock, a premier campsite in Karjat has come up with this novel idea?
December 11 will see the first edition of this enterprise. Flanked by the banks of the serene river Ulhas, this campsite is at a pleasant driving distance from both Mumbai and Pune. What makes the flea market stand out is the fact that it is brimming with numerous home-grown brands. The stalls promise the authenticity, beauty and richness of sustainable products.
You can expect a wide range of organic bathroom essentials at the BFF (Bubblesfoamandfun) shop, bespoke clothing that strives to generate environmental awareness from Earthy Route, timeless crockery from KokoEarth, cute little objects from Thelittelystore, silver and clay jewellery by Resol, and aromatic candles from the Sassyartstore.
The ASBB Merchandise LLP shop has stylish solutions for everything from cutlery to pouches, edible straws, cardboard pens, seed calendars, wooden combs, reflective collars for your pet and more! Shop for some gourmet desserts by Manukabymanaswi and resolbysharvari, artisanal ones by Patasa, as well as fudge made with fresh berries accompanied by customised artwork from Fudge house x Artsy Dits to end the day on a sweet note.
Speaking about this event, Megh Doshi, co-founder, Moonstone Hammock, says, “We are thrilled to organise a flea market at our campsite. Camping in itself is an activity loved by many. Combining it with shopping gives it a unique touch altogether. It is a great opportunity to unwind and relax far from the hustle and bustle of city life.”
You can choose between a flea day pass (₹750) and an overnight pass (₹ 2,890). These rates are per person and exclusive of GST. The overnight package contains access to several additional activities like the pool, high tea, food, music, kayaking, etc.
