Discover Korea Food Festival comes to Delhi at Honk, Pullman Aerocity

For a month starting April 11, diners at Honk, Pullman Aerocity, will be treated to the delectable cuisine of Korea. Here’s your chance to discover Korea through your plate.

With the Hallyu wave touching the hearts of Indian fans, the demand for Korean entertainment, food and beauty is on the rise in India. To tap this new audience — curious about all things Korean — the Korea Tourism Organization and Pullman Aerocotiy have joined hands in association with TravelDine to curate a special Korean food experience called the #Discover Korea Food Festival @ Honk, Pullman New Delhi Aerocity.

Starting from 11th April, 2022, the festival will continue till 11th May, 2022. The month-long Korean Food Festival sees Chef Neeraj Tyagi, the Culinary Director of Pullman New Delhi Aerocity teaming up with Chef Jiyeol Kim, a Korean Chef and K-food expert from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, to curate an extravagant Korean menu. Food lovers in Delhi will have the opportunity to taste authentic cuisine without having to travel thousands of miles to its country of origin.

Signatures include Kimchi Jjigae soup (a spicy kimchi soup served with rice) and Guksu (Korean clear noodle soup with nori sheets, chicken, sesame seeds and kimchi oil), Kimbap (rice with vegetables or meat, rolled in seaweed and served in bite-sized slices), Korean fried chicken or Bul-Dak, the famed Bul Gogi Lamb, Korean stir-fried glass noodles or Japchae, spicy stir-fried Korean pork belly or Dwaejigogi-Bokkeum, and Korean rice cakes or Tteok-Bokki, to name a few. There are enough options to make the tummies of both vegetarians and non-vegetarians happy. The menu, filled with Korean ingredients and comforting options like rice, noodles, vegetables, meats, and tofu, is sure to delight your tastebuds.

This collaboration is a part of the travel re-opening promotion plan of Korea Tourism Organization, as they prepare for the destination to re-open very soon. As part of its mega event Let’s Go Korea Travel, KTO is planning to encourage luxury customers to try Korea and its food & culture in India and finally purchase the special travel plan and be ready to travel to Korea in 2022. Starting from 1st April 2022, South Korea will welcome visitors who have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations and they will be exempt from mandatory quarantine. With the rise in awareness about Korea in India especially through Korean entertainment, the world of K-Pop and K-Drama, KTO expects a rise in demand for travel to Korea by Indian outbound travellers in the year 2022.

Talking about the collaboration, Mr Y.G. Choi, Director, Korea Tourism Organization, said, “Korean food is the culmination of its traditional culture containing the soul and emotion of the Korean people. We aim to take South Korea to different regions in India through #Discover Korea Food Festival and Honk will be our first platform to connect with the Indian audience.”
