The menu features the best of both trending cuisines; Asian and Mediterranean, under one beautiful and stylish roof. With Kyma, BKC just got a lot hotter.
Torn between Asian and Mediterranean for a night out? Kyma at One BKC eliminates the choice and provides you with the best of both worlds instead! The city’s newest all day casual dining and bar focuses on two of the hottest cuisines under one roof.
Brainchild of Nikita Poojari & Mr. Narayan Poojari, the owner of the famous Shiv Sagar Food and Resort Pvt. Ltd, Kyma was created with managing partners Nikhil Rochlani, Dhaval Udeshi and Pawan Shahri.
Nikita Pujari says, “After having done various concepts across the years from Shiv Sagar to Butterfly High, we as a group wanted to enter the premium casual dining segment. Hence, the idea of Kyma was born in which we are able to get two premium cuisines under one roof. We believe in the concept of diversification and innovation and we want our customers to have a larger choice in their way and options of dining.”
In keeping with the casual philosophy of the place, Kyma offers a beautiful outdoor alfresco area with cabanas as well as a gazebo for outdoor seating. Replete with fairy lights and planters, it’s bound to give you ethereal European feels perfect for the winter.
Upon entering, it takes a while to drink in the high ceilings, the distinct spaces that cater to different vibes, and a long and enticing bar to top it off. You could opt for the plush couch comfort of the lounge area, the bar that features a long horizontal mirror right above, or any of the booths in the dining area. For a large group looking for a premium and private dining space, there’s a separate Dining Room as well!
“After Butterfly High and Blah!, my aim was to create an amalgamation of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine and create a space which is more approachable and relevant to the people. The whole concept is for people to walk into Kyma at any time of the day and be able to eat premium cuisines in a casual and carefree way,” says Dhaval Udeshi of the launch.
While the ambience definitely promises a premium experience unlike any other in Mumbai, the food remains firmly in the driver’s seat at Kyma. The menu is a carefully curated mix of comfort and innovation across the Asian and Mediterranean cuisines.
On the Asian end of the menu, there’s enough appetisers to keep you coming back for more. From the fiery Asian Nachos to the Cantonese style Chili Chicken accompanied by the Mantao steam bun, it’s comfort food all the way!
Sushi lovers, this one’s for you! An intricately created live sushi counter has been created for an authentic sushi bar experience, allowing you to watch the master chefs behind creations like the Salmon Truffle Cream Cheese & Jalapeno Sushi at work. The Prawn Tempura Sushi is the perfect balance of crispy and satisfying, a nod to Kyma’s bold yet familiar flavours.
The Mediterranean menu is arguably just as delicious if not more! The Red Harrisa Pumpkin is a warm and comforting feeling in your mouth, hitting all the right notes. In keeping with the Levantine offerings, there’s plenty of hot and cold mezze platters, pides, and shawarmas to satisfy your cravings.
Hummus, however, gets completely redefined, as evident in the signature Kyma Cherry Wood Smoke Cream Cheese Hummus with a caramel pistachio.
One delectably filling meal later, there’s always room for dessert. And boy do these desserts deliver. For those who prefer avoiding overwhelming sweetness, the Lemongrass Crème Brûlée hits all the right spots. There’s also the Kunafa and rich Saffron Milk Cake to look forward to for all dessert lovers.
Legends, however, will opt for the Havuc Dilmi, a baklava befitting dessert aficionados. The cream and delicately layered phyllo combined with a subtly sweet rose ice-cream is heaven on a plate. And even that’s an understatement.
We haven’t forgotten about the cocktails of course! The bar features bespoke recipes and has been created to complement the food menu. Tanned in Shanghai, for instance, is a refreshing drink made of Japanese gin paired with yuzu and hibiscus cordial. While it may look innocently eye-catching, it definitely gets the job done.
Adding to BKC’s exploding culinary scene, Kyma is well on its way to carving a nice for itself. If you’re in the mood to grab a good bite, or knock it back with a great drink and some friends, it’s all happening here!
