It was almost surreal to have the legends, and some enthusiastic new entrants, from the world of wine and spirits together again.

But that’s exactly what made Vinexpo’s second edition that much more special. Held across three days, the event was organised by Vinexposium, the Leading Global Organiser Of  Wine And Spirits Events and InterAds Exhibitions Pvt Ltd.

A one-of-its-kind B2B trade show for wine and spirits manufacturers, attendees get to learn, network, promote and do so much at Vinexpo.  The three-day free event was a power-packed one, fizzing with fresh ideas to take the sector forward, and witnessing multiple potential collaborations.

With a footfall of 2000+ visitors and over 1300 attendees at the master classes, there was a lot going on no matter which way your head turned. From brands such as Sula Wines, Agriment Italy, John Distilleries, and Fratelli Wines, it was a gathering of the best.

Additionally, Swiss Luxury Spirits Producer SWISSVÄL showcased the luxury range of Alpine Gin, Single Malt Whisky and an interesting hot and spicy Drink-Williams with bird’s eye chilli. Incidentally, the last makes for an excellent cocktail with Red Bull.

In addition to the brands on display, the Vinexpo hosted some excellent masterclasses on the wines, winemakers and their stories, and of course, the general welfare of the industry. Amongst them, a key highlight was the women’s panel discussion moderated by Digital influencer MissMalini. Featuring the top women in the Indian wine industry, the panel discussed the gendered opportunities and challenges faced, as well as potential ways for the future.

Another significant session was one by the Top Sommelier of Italy 2019, Mattia Antonio Cianca. Teaming up with Amrita Singh in Bordeaux, they’ve brought an eclectic range of Italian wines from 10 wineries, most of which have never been spotted in the country before! You can look forward to labels like Angelo Negro, Villa Crine, Nittardi, Perlage, and many more. In addition to these, they’re also representing producers from Italy, France, Austria, Germany and Spain.

With a diverse range of producers backing them, there’s a lot of options when it comes to prices. But definitely value for money across the board. As India comes into its own on this front, the wines on offer here are easy, palatable, and fresh. For Mattia, it’s refreshing to enter an industry that’s not corrupted by anything yet, and simply focuses on educating its audience on what’s available.

“Italy is the hardest country to learn about wines in, and I’m Italian. There are so many grape varietals, synonyms for everything, numerous wineries, and too many names, it’s just a mess. When you take that mess, which of course, is the richness of heritage and culture, and turn it into something simple, premium, and exclusive, it’s bound to attract attention. It helps that most of them are really approachable in terms of pricing,” says Mattia Antonio.

Events like Vinexpo India are crucial for the nation, given the nascent stage we’re at. But there’s huge potential for growth, and platforms like these will enable it further. That aside, the masterclasses added huge value for consumers as well, delving into the stories behind the making and generating a newfound and well-informed appreciation for wine.

In case you missed this one, the next edition of Vinexpo India is all set to take place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from December 1-3, 2022. Can’t wait for wine‘o’clock!
