The first of the Chateau Indage’s soirées were held at the iconic British Brewing Company in Marol, Mumbai, packed with their signature wines.

If you’re a wine lover or connoisseur or anywhere in between on the spectrum, you love your bottle of Chateau Indage.
The pioneer of authentic wines in India, Chateau Indage hosted the first of their Chateau Soirées at the iconic British Brewing Company’s Marol outpost on Sunday, 21st August. The event saw a free-flowing drunch with excited guests swarming over their exquisitely curated wine list. Presiding over 32 labels, the delectable wines from their rich reservoir are highly acclaimed and relished, missed for a minute there but back again in full swing.
Founded in 1982 by industrialist Mr Shamrao Chougule, Chateau Indage boasts at least 150 acres of vineyards at Narayangaon near Pune. It took nearly two years and 3,000 pages of study by Champagne Technologie of France to decide upon this idyllic setting for a world-class winery and vineyards.

The award-winning winery produces sparkling and still wines from two state-of-the-art, automated wineries. They are also the very first and only producers of bottle-fermented sparkling wines in Asia, and the ninth in the world. Adding to their accolades, Chateau Indage wines have been listed in the World Wine Encyclopaedia, and are acknowledged by celebrated wine critics worldwide.
As for the drunch, it took you straight to cloud wine. The front runner of the afternoon was Chateau Indage’s signature sparkling wine, the Marquise De Pompadour. The same is a creamy, crisp, and refreshing bubbly made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Ugni Blanc.

That aside, there were also favourites such as the Tiger Hill Chenin Blanc and White Zinfandel, the Chantilli Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz, the Vin Ballet Red, White & Dessert Wines and more. The range of price points offered by Chateau Indage is what sets it apart as well, offering everything from a Rs 349 to a Rs 1399 bottle of wine.
That aside, the soirée also featured a delicious spread by the hosting British Brewing Company. From a buffet-style Cheese and Salad bar to delectable appetisers, decadent mains and indulgent desserts, it was the perfect meal to complement each of the wines available. In addition to the original wines, there were also classic wine cocktails such as Mimosas, Bellini, Red Wine Sangria, White Wine Sangria and so on.

As of now, the wine categories produced by Chateau Indage include everything from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Malbec, Viognier, Grenache, Arkavati, Arkeshyam, Ugni, Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Zinfandel all the way to Muscadet, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc. What’s immediately noteworthy about the wine, even from a lay perspective, is the smooth flavours it offers. All minus the burn and slightly chalky aftertastes that some wines seem to have. And there’s definitely a premium offering for you at whichever price you’d prefer.
If this Chateau Soirée was anything to go by, the ones to come promise a fine wine and dine time to all those interested. In the meantime, your home bar is definitely missing their intricate collections, all up for you to sample!
