With World Chocolate Day on July 7, it’s time to indulge in some sinful chocolate therapy. And who better than one of the world’s largest chocolate manufacturers, Hershey, and one of India’s most feted culinary experts, Chef Ranveer Brar, to lead the way?

Sure, you could order in some delicious treats but creating a masterpiece from scratch has its own joys. Especially with experts guiding your hand.

Here are 3 recipes to celebrate World Chocolate Day.

Hershey’s Choco-nut-kalakand

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup paneer, crumbled
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup mixed nuts, chopped (pistachios, almonds)
  • 1/4 cup Hershey’s Chocolate Flavoured Syrup

Preparation

Heat a heavy bottom pan on medium flame.

Add condensed milk and cook till it is warm.

Now add in crumbled paneer, cardamom powder, Hershey’s Chocolate Flavoured Syrup and mix well.

Stir constantly to prevent from burning.

After few minutes, it will turn to thick mass and will begin to leave the sides of the pan. This is the time to turn the flame off.

Take a greased tray and transfer the kalakand mixture to the greased tray, spread it to 3/4 inch thickness.

Smooth the top evenly with the help of rubber spatula and top up with chopped nuts, pat lightly.

Refrigerate the kalakand for 2-3 hours. After chilling, cut into desired shapes and serve.


Spiced hot chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 1 fresh red chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  • A pinch salt
  • 3 tbsp Hershey’s Cocoa Powder

For garnish

  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 1 tbsp Hershey’s Cocoa Powder
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Preparation

In a saucepan add milk, fresh cream, red chilli and bring it to a boil.

Strain it in a bowl. Add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, salt, Hershey’s Cocoa Powder and mix well.

Pour it in serving glass and garnish with whipped cream, Hershey’s Cocoa Powder, cinnamon stick.


Choco Martini

Ingredients:

  • Few ice cubes
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice-cream
  • 3 tbsp Hershey’s Chocolate Flavoured Syrup
  • 30ml Sprite
  • Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolate

Preparation

Place a Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolate in the bottom of a chilled cocktail glass.

Mix all the chocolate martini ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake and then strain and pour into a cocktail glass and serve.
