Paul and Mike win silver at International Chocolate Awards

The 64 per cent dark Sichuan Pepper and Orange Peel vegan chocolate from the Kochi-based brand also won a bronze at last year’s Asia-Pacific level of the International Chocolate Awards.

This homegrown brand from Kochi is young but has lofty ambitions. And given the overwhelmingly positive response to its unique chocolates, it seems well on its way. The latest wreath of recognition comes from the International Chocolate Awards 2020-21 World Final where Paul and Mike won silver for its 64 per cent Dark Sichuan Pepper and Orange Peel Vegan Chocolate. This is the second time Paul and Mike has tasted success at these awards with this variety, bagging the bronze at the Asia-Pacific level last year.

Paul and Mike’s secret to success lies in the use of unique ingredients. The award winner, for instance, has Sichuan pepper, a popular flavour in Southeast Asian cuisine.

According to Vikas Temani, business head, Paul and Mike, the success is a result of the unique ingredients used in this bar. Sichuan pepper is a popular flavour in Southeast Asian cuisine, and candied orange peel adds an interesting texture to the chocolate.

Unique ingredients is something Paul and Mike is reputed for, and being backed by Synthite, suppliers of natural food ingredients, sourcing is no problem at all. In fact, some of its other offerings include trademark Indian flavours such as alphonso mango, jamun and sitaphal, some of which have even won awards.

Paul and Mike currently have 36 different varieties of chocolates available.
