Vietjet Air to restart flight operations between India-Vietnam from April 29

The Vietnamese carrier, Vietjet Air, has announced new routes between the two countries, along with the resumption of flight operations on older ones.

The surreal seascape of limestone islands in Halong Bay, a cyclo tour through the winding lanes of Hanoi followed by an egg coffee break, or a visit to the War Remnant Museum and Củ Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City — there’s no dearth 0f unique experiences in Vietnam. And after a long halt, Vietjet Air has decided to resume its operations between India and Vietnam so that you can explore it all.

The airline announced that it is all set to restart operations of six flights between the two countries later this week. An official statement was released recently stating that the flights on the Delhi-Hanoi and Delhi-Ho Chi Minh City routes will resume on April 29 and April 30, respectively.

Additionally, four new routes were announced to be launched soon. These include connecting Hanoi with Mumbai; Ho Chi Minh City with Mumbai and the southern resort island of Phu Quoc with both New Delhi and Mumbai. Vietjet Air will operate four round-trip flights each week on the Ho Chi Minh city-Mumbai route from June 2, and three weekly round-trip flights on the Hanoi-Mumbai route from June 3.

Similarly, four round-trip flights will be available on the Phu Quoc-Mumbai route every week from September 8, and three flights along the Phu Quoc-New Delhi route will be available September 9 onwards.

After a long gap of two years due to the novel coronavirus, India resumed scheduled international passenger flights last month. Till then, only limited international passenger flights were operating to and from India under limited air bubble arrangements with specific countries, which excluded Vietnam.

Dinh Viet Phuong, Managing Director, Vietjet Air, added that with flights of just over five hours per leg, a convenient flight schedule on offer throughout the week, the airline’s renewed and increased connectivity between Vietnam and India will create many more trade and tourism opportunities, which will help boost economies of both the countries.
