Chef duo Aarnav Merchant and Alagu Vignesh have managed to create a pasta bar cum Italian cuisine heaven for anyone having a pasta craving in Chennai.
At Impasta, you can expect 12 hand-rolled pasta variants from tagliatelle to tortellini. For the IHM Mumbai graduates with Michelin level experience, it’s all about creatively experimenting with flavours. The devil is in the details though, and their Pomodoro tomatoes sourced all the way from Italy is proof.
Given their global experience working with the best of the culinary world, the menu is unsurprisingly rife with innovative flavours. There’s a little bit of the French in the Parisienne Gnocchi and Japanese in the dashi sauce used to heighten flavour in the Mushroom Cappellacci. The desserts are not to be left out either, with the Basque Cheesecake with a caramel sauce that’s indulgence personified. At Impasta, teleport to Italy on the back of some great hand-rolled pasta and bold flavours.

Jack Miller Cafe is the latest exciting addition to Elliot’s Promenade. What started off as a Barista is now a swanky blue-white phenomenon. With a minimalistic kitchen on the ground floor and a limited yet cozy dining area above it, Jack Miller is keen on curating the food and ambience that delivers you all the simple fun and cheer that a beach day has to offer.
Jack Miller, the namesake icon, is the owner’s way of creating a mysterious yet fun character, reminiscent of the spirit and experience of the place. While the food and vibes are all things good, there’s plenty more to look forward to. The cafe plans to start Sunrise breakfasts at 6am, a delicious wake-up call for all who can make it. They also hope to introduce live music, be it single-piece live performances or patio concerts on weekends.
