The first of the TravelDine Jazz Nights at the Leela Palace, New Delhi, sizzled with fabulous music, lavish hospitality, and the city’s best and brightest

A perfect meld of unlimited creativity and carefully curated luxury experiences, the TravelDine Jazz Nights are all about bringing Jazz to beautiful stages and ensuring it can be appreciated by music aficionados of all ages.

The #aboutlastnight hashtag may be commonplace now, but there was absolutely nothing commonplace about the exclusive event at the Library Bar Terrace last night (November 18, 2022)! The al fresco venue dazzled with fairy lights in the fragrant Scholar trees and Delhi’s chic set stepping out to enjoy a crisp evening of delightful Latin Jazz by Paddy’s Hot Five.

The band features one of India’s finest pianists Pradyumna Manot a.k.a the famous Paddy, fantastic bass guitarist Aditya Servaia, passionate drummer Tamaghna Mukherjee a.k.a Bihu, powerhouse vocalist Sana Arora, and compelling saxophonist Aniket Chaturvedi.

They were in their element, each connecting with the crowd in their own special way. The mood went from mellow to high energy and back, completely holding the audience in thrall. Diplomats, industrialists, hotel guests from all over the world, came together in their love for Jazz.

Anupam Dasgupta, the dapper General Manager of The Leela Palace, was coaxed to get onstage and impress us with his vocal range and showmanship with a moving rendition of Autumn Leaves, a 1945 song by Johnny Mercer and Joseph Kosma later made famous by the likes of Nat King Cole and Eric Clapton.

His team, meanwhile, showcased the best of the Leela’s culinary repertoire, with delectable hors d’oeuvres and live stations serving a variety of cuisines. The Bacardi Reserva Bar serving up aged rum cocktails and Caribbean cigars by Cigar Connexion was a hit, as was the lavish dessert selection.
