Taj Safaris and WWF India come together to support conservation initiatives

Taj Safaris will help WWF India in its nature and wildlife conservation efforts by offering guests an opportunity to make voluntary contributions.

The World Wide Fund for Nature – India (WWF) and Taj Safaris, one of India’s finest luxury wildlife circuits, have joined hands for a noble cause. Signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two have collectively declared to support WWF – India’s conservation initiatives and increase awareness among visitors to the Taj Safaris lodges in India.

The partnership paves the way for Taj Safaris and WWF – India to work together to drive awareness of the importance and the necessity of conservation of nature and wildlife. The collaboration will offer guests at the Taj Safaris lodges an opportunity to support the organisation’s conservation efforts through voluntary contributions. WWF – India will periodically keep the guests abreast about the progress of the conservation programs undertaken by them.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Pokhariyal, executive vice president – human resources at IHCL, said, “After the iconic Gaur Relocation program in 2011, Taj Safaris is now stepping into the role of a conservation enabler through its association with WWF – India. Our initiatives around the national parks have helped Pardhi, Gond, and Baiga communities to reduce their dependence on the forest resources by bringing tourism as a new source of income to them. This partnership helps us further the cause of supporting to communities to converse the environment.”

Karan Bhalla, chief operating officer at WWF – India said, “This partnership is a great initiative to create awareness among the wider audience. Public awareness is an important aspect of protecting the environment. In this process, along with Taj Safaris, guests can contribute to nature and wildlife conservation”.

Taj Safaris in India will raise awareness of the cause at four of its luxury lodges including Mahua Kothi – Bandhavgarh National Park, Baghvan – Pench National ParkPashan Garh – Panna National Park, and Banjaar Tola – Kanha National Park.
