The 2022 Negroni Week has all the makings of pre-festive season celebrations. It comes just ahead of some of the most celebratory weeks in our country — as we shape up to celebrate a series of festivals with scrumptious food and the most exotic drinks to raise a toast to.
At The Library Bar, one of the most vaunted bars of uptown New Delhi nestled in the corridors of The Leela Palace in Chanakyapuri, you may get your hands on a creation that’s timeless — and at the same time adventurous. Siya Negi, the head bartender at The Library, has built an expert concoction that blends together the perfect recipe of a classic negroni, with her own twist.
Cue — the sesame butter negroni at The Library Bar. A preparation that is inventive, this cocktail retains the restrained oomph that the original negroni brings to the table. However, that’s just the beginning of what is special here. This classic drink has been combined with a special infusion of gin that uses mogras — to add a strain of fragrance here.
Further adding to the uniqueness of the cocktail is the addition of coco butter and sesame, which is infused into the classic, bitter Italian liqueur — the Campari. It is the latter that adds the immediately identifiable bitter note to the negroni, and infusing it with the special ingredients highlights The Library’s offering of the negroni to a different echelon.
