While restaurateur and chef Zorawar Kalra isn’t an unfamiliar face on the small screen, his latest avatar is bound to turn a few heads!

Previously, the man’s been spotted on television as a judge on the legendary show Masterchef India alongside Chef Vikas Khanna and Chef Kunal Kapur. This time around though, the eccentric and adventurous Zorawar Kalra has decided to step far out of his comfort zone.

How? By dancing his way into peoples’ hearts on the iconic Colours reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa!

For the uninitiated, the reality TV show brings together eminent celebrities from different walks of life to showcase their best moves alongside choreographer partners. Since its inception, the franchise has enjoyed immense success and will be making a grand comeback for its 10th season after a 5-year hiatus.

So far, the world has seen only the culinary side of the son of Jiggs Kalra, the ‘Czar of Indian Cuisine’. Among several hats, Zorawar Kalra is the founder and managing director of Massive Restaurants Pvt Ltd, which owns brands such as Masala Library, Pa Pa Ya, Farzi Café, Made in Punjab, YOUnion and a unique Asian eatery Hotel ShangHigh.

About his foray into a world he’s absolutely unfamiliar with, Zorawar Kalra says, “I always enjoy taking on new challenges. Dancing isn’t something I’m even remotely familiar with, but I do know that if I put in the time and effort, I can achieve the desired result. My natural competitive spirit will take over.”

Apart from the multi-talented Kalra, television actor Nia Sharma, youth icon Niti Taylor and popular film actor Amruta Khanvilar have been confirmed to participate in the upcoming season of India’s most loved celebrity dance reality show.

There’s also been a growing buzz around who will take on the judges’ panel. After much speculation, Hindi film industry’s filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Madhuri Dixit Nene have been roped in and will return as judges. Joining them is global artist and ace dancer Nora Fatehi, following her recent stint as a judge on the show Dance Deewane Juniors.

With an illustrious panel of judges and a star-studded line-up of contestants, the 10th season promises to be 10 times bigger, more glamourous, and entertaining.

So what does Zorawar Kalra feel about all eyes on his legendary self? “Am I anxious? Yes. As I’m completely out of my element and comfort zone. However, overcoming this aspect will perhaps be the most rewarding part of this journey.  I hope I’m able to be competent and entertain the audience and they appreciate the journey I have undertaken,” he adds.

Previously, big names such as Lasith Malinga, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Shubhangi Atre, Hina Khan, Paras Kalnawat, and Dheeraj Dhoopar were confirmed by the makers. How everything unfolds remains to be seen, but we’re excited to have an F&B rep, and a pretty enthusiastic and talented one at that!
