Augie was launched in August 2021. In this brief hiatus, the pet brand is winning the hearts of dog parents across India.
A lot has changed in the dog universe over the past few years. Dog owners are now dog parents. Indoor cushions have replaced outdoor kennels. Collars have gotten colourful. Leashes have become a style statement. People have started travelling with their dogs. They visit restaurants and cafes, attend weddings and parties. They are a part of all festivities. In short, dogs have become an integral part of the human family.
Enter brand Augie, who caters to these consumers — not just by selling products and services but also by educating and encouraging people to give a new lease of life to these four-legged fur babies.

M. Parthasarathy, Cofounder & CEO of Augie, has but one goal: To make the world a better place, where animals and humans peacefully co-exist.

“Thanks to the advent of new technologies and emergence of social media over the past 10 years, depression and loneliness have increased among humans. Due to industrialisation, a lot of people have migrated to cities and left their loved ones behind. This led to turning to pets for affection and love. The relationship between humans and pets have only been fruitful since then. The beautiful emotional bond that we share with animals is incomparable,” says Parthasarathy.
Brand Augie was launched in August 2021. Barely a year old, it has won the hearts of many customers across India. The store sells innovative products that are loved by every dog of every breed.
“The most common issue found among pets are ticks and fleas. We have a solution for that. We have an imported tag for dogs, which is holistic, chemical-free, risk-free, and hassle-free. Our grooming brushes are also designed in a manner that they will not only help get the cleansers and medications down through the coat to the skin but will also massage the tissues underneath. This, in turn, will stimulate blood circulation, alleviate stiffness in muscle tissue, and will ultimately aid in healing the skin,” he says.
The bestsellers at Augie include high-end brands like Caru, which are made of human-grade ingredients.
“This gives dogs a homemade food experience and help them stay healthy,” he says.
Shedding light on the behaviour patterns of the present-day dog parents, Parthasarathy says that they have become more loving and caring.
“Dog owners of today are always in touch with what their pet needs the most. They are good providers and are in touch with the constantly evolving pet care sector. However, we provide support, awareness for new pet owners who are just starting out and are in need of assistance and guidance. We provide walk-in consultancies. We also have blogs that provides useful information to dog owners,” says Parthasarathy.
Augie’s roadmap
In the next 12 months, Augie is planning to incorporate more pet services like pet insurance, pet boarding, and 24/7 vet-clinic services — all under one roof. Augie also plans to expand to Chennai, Chandigarh, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Nagpur.
