An MoFPI task force will resolve issues related to restrictions and prohibitions across the country, for food processing as well as allied industries.
Last year, GoI’s Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), had put together a task force to deal with disturbances in the food processing industry, stemming from the various restrictions and prohibitions. With the country in the throes of the second wave now, and various state governments imposing different restrictions, MoFPI has reopened its Covid grievance cell.
Given that there were several learnings from last time, officials are confident that this time around, it will be easier to navigate the various issues and allow food processing and related industries to continue business unhindered.
An advisory issued by the ministry says, “Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, through its grievance cell supported by Invest India, is committed to ensure hassle-free operations of the food processing sector and uninterrupted supply of essentials for citizens. Any issues being faced by the food processing industry can be sent to MoFPI’s Covid Grievance Cell at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We would like to assure our commitment to all food processing and related industries. The dedicated grievance cell will provide necessary support to ensure successful continuity of business of the agri-food industry in India.”
Around 580 cases were resolved by the task force last time, and the same task force will resume duties this time as well.
