When you think burger, you almost always think chicken. Or if you’re outside India, you probably think of another juicy meat. Unless you’re vegetarian/vegan of course, which is a whole other story!

But traditional ingredients aside, what’s the most adventurous burger you’ve ever had? Thanks to Good Flippin’ Burgers, a delicious limited-edition mutton burger is now here for your indulgence. Entitled The Lambo, this dish is here to blow your minds and push the limits of your taste buds!

To break it down, what you get is a duo of juicy mutton patties covered in melted cheddar cheese slices. It’s served with a spicy Bhoot sauce, crispy lettuce, and crunchy onions layered between freshly baked soft Brioche buns.

Or at least, that’s more or less the gist of what they’re offering. Is it all true? Well, mostly.

Since we had our burgers plus fries delivered home, there’s always the preliminary check of how well the food is going to travel. In this case, I’m happy to report that The Lambo reached us safe and sound, undisturbed in a neat paper wrap and outer cardboard box. Surprisingly, the patties, sauce, and cheese didn’t dampen the brioche buns, leaving their structural integrity intact.

Coming to the patties, they’re definitely juicy. Seasoned a bit too lightly for my liking, but definitely a delicious bite each time. Had they been cooked a little less or at a higher temperature, they might’ve escaped that chewy texture mutton usually takes on. The melted cheddar slices definitely help in any way they can.

My biggest grief is with the spicy bhoot sauce, in that it’s hardly there. The one or two odd bites complete with patty, vegetables, sauce, and buns made The Lambo a near-perfect and well-balanced bite. But the fact that there was so little of the sauce, or perhaps an uneven placement, didn’t really help.

The fries were your traditional golden brown, crisp, and crinkle cut. Although they looked super appetizing, they were unfortunately quite salty. Even the aioli that came with the fries didn’t offer much redemption.

That being said, The Lambo is one of those burgers you could share with a loved one on a cosy evening at home. Or simply gorge on it during a Netflix binge session. Either way, it’s a welcome break from the same old chicken burgers and its equally bland cousins. And at Rs 475 plus GST until the end of this month, the meaty goodness is undeniable and definitely worth a shot!
