Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan wears the entrepreneur hat to launch a premium vodka, D’Yavol, in India under the newly-founded Slab Ventures, in partnership with Bunty Singh and Leti Blagoeva.

Within just a week of hinting at his writing and directorial debut in the world of cinema, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has announced yet another venture, setting a solid foot in the ever-evolving arena of premium spirits. The 25-year-old has launched SLAB Ventures, a Netherlands-based luxury lifestyle establishment in partnership with his family buddies-turned-business associates Bunty Singh and Leti Blagoeva.
The young entrepreneur Aryan Khan’s sail with his first pioneering business will witness the launch of a high-end vodka brand D’Yavol—a name of Slavic origins that translates to devil—in India and subsequently cross the waters to be retailed in parts of Asia, Europe and North America.
Dropping D’Yavol vodka in India
The sale and promotion of D’Yavol vodka in the country will be helmed by Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), a multinational drinks corporation with its headquarters in Belgium. With global beer brands like Budweiser, Corona and Hoegaarden in its repertoire, AB InBev leads the global market as the world’s largest beer brewer by volume and revenue.
Per Fortune, AB InBev operates over 600 beer brands across 150 countries and has often been in the headlines for acquiring its competition brands such as Camden Town Brewery and Goose Islands. Closer home in India, Aryan Khan does not wish to pull a full stop at vodka, and plans to keep the Indian market of premium spirits unabated by unveiling newer brown spirits at a later point in future.
As reported by The Economic Times, D’Yavol vodka will find a presence at top-tier restaurants, bars and spirit retail outlets in the country. Soon, spirit savants across Maharashtra, Goa, Delhi, Karnataka, UP and West Bengal will be able to lay their hands on D’Yavol, which will be marked off between INR 4,500 to 6,500. However, beverage is just one of the many segments under SLAB Ventures, in addition to which Aryan Khan has indicated dropping a luxury apparel line next year amongst other such lifestyle entities.

A quick glance at the official website of D’Yavol vodka reveals significant elements that have gone into the making of this premium, single-estate spirit. Made from 100 per cent winter wheat and refined with rare black pearls, the vodka with a bold red logo is described to have a velvety mouthfeel and a smooth finish.
According to a report by Financial Express in October this year, Rahul Gagerna of Boutique Spirit Brands was quoted explaining about the demand for vodka in India, “With premiumisation, growth in disposable income of specially the youth of the country and due to the growth of cocktail culture in India, the market is increasing and will continue to grow.”
