The latest product from The Caffeine Baar, Cascara Gardenia, uses byproducts from coffee making process. And the result is a unique fruity and sweet beverage.
The Caffeine Baar, a new coffee brand based out of the 120-year-old Baarbara Estate in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, uses chemistry to present what it calls the concept of “seed to cup” to connoisseurs. Coffee and tea lovers can check out the brand’s offerings at its experience centre in Jayanagar, Bengaluru.
Its newest product, Cascara Gardenia, is a tea made from cascara, the skin or husk of the coffee cherry, which is obtained as a byproduct of coffee pulping and processing. The tea bag contains the skin of coffee cherries along with rosemary, sage, spearmint, chamomile, eucalyptus and cornflower. The cascara infusion has a fruity taste with notes of rosehip, hibiscus, cherry, red currant and mango. Aside from the unique flavour profile, the seasonal coffee cherry tea is also a nod at the brand’s sustainability endeavours, as it recycles byproducts of the coffee making process.
