Whether it’s a lavish delivery experience at home or a safe celebration at a restaurant, in adherence to all guidelines, this Independence Day will, as usual, see numerous establishments across the country extend many an offer.

Indulge in a lavish Independence Day brunch
Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru
With a wide variety of chaats, shawarmas, appams, biryanis, kebabs and delicious desserts such as kala jamun and rasmalai, among others, Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru has curated a special brunch for August 15, from 12.30pm-4pm. And while traditional offerings will take centre stage, diners won’t be limited to just Indian fare. There will also be Western and Asian cuisine on offer for those who want something different. The non-alcoholic brunch is priced at Rs 2,950 while the alcoholic one will cost Rs 4,900, inclusive of all taxes.
JW Marriott Mumbai
JW Marriott Mumbai’s Juhu will host a special brunch for Independence Day at the Lotus Café from 12.30pm-3.30pm. Priced at Rs 2,900 for the non-alcoholic brunch and Rs 4,250 for the alcoholic one, the menu will have dishes from all over the country, including zaffrani paneer tikka, dal baati choorma, subz Lucknowi, Amritsari tawa machli, and murgh dum biryani, among others.
At JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar’s JW Café, a special brunch will feature dishes from across the country, such as Maharashtrian pandra rassa, Patiala shahi machchi, Rajasthani laal maas, and gosht galawati, among others. On from 12.30pm to 3.30pm on August 15, it costs Rs 2,500 for the non-alcoholic brunch and Rs 3,500 for the alcoholic one (taxes extras).
And for those who’d rather celebrate at home, there’s the Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels food delivery service. An Independence Day Special Brunch Box (Rs 2,500 for vegetarian and Rs 2,750 for non-vegetarian, taxes extra) can be ordered 24 hours in advance to avail delivery between 12pm and 8pm on August 15.
St Regis Mumbai
At Seven Kitchens, St Regis Mumbai’s all-day dining destination, Chef Dane Fernandes and his team will lay out an extensive spread on August 15, 12.30pm to 3.30pm. It will feature delicacies such as murg dhaniya, bhuna gosht, butter chicken, mutton sukka, masala bhaat and komdicha rasa, among others. The alcoholic brunch will be priced at Rs 4,750 while the non-alcoholic one will cost Rs 3,300.
Get patriotic at home
The Marriott International group has introduced 40 varieties of biryani, one of India’s favourite dishes, to celebrate this Independence Day. Ranging from Bhatti da Murg Biryani, Gulnaar Raan Biryani and Bambaiya Biryani to Kolkata Mutton Biryani, Madurai Mutton Biryani and Pothi Kozhi Biryani, these unique recipes are from all corners of the country. Available from August 13 to 19, at over 60 Marriott International properties for both dine-in and delivery through Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels, the biryanis are priced between Rs 650 and Rs 1,500.
At GOD Café, the menu is steeped in Indian heritage and culture. Made using ingredients such as A2 milk from Gir cows, as well as organically grown vegetables, fruits and spices, the food is natural, ayurvedic and saatvic. Of course, given the occasion, there are items that are organically coloured to depict the tri-colour. And there’s a discount of 15 per cent on the total bill.
