Rosewood São Paulo is the newest kid on the block — with a focus on elegant designed, sustainable luxury, and historical influences.
Heralding the grand entrance of the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® into Latin America, Rosewood São Paulo has officially opened its doors for guests. The ultra-luxury property is a metropolitan oasis set within the historical enclave of Cidade Matarazzo near the heart of Brazil’s lively city, Avenida Paulista.
It is an integral part of the complex that is home to elegantly preserved buildings from the early 20th century, carefully transformed into private residences, high-end stores, and entertainment venues.
Designed by architect Jean Nouvel and artistic director Philippe Starck, the hotel is rooted in sustainability and anchors the 30,000 square-meter mixed-used lifestyle hub, which is set to be completed by 2023. Cidade Matarazzo is Brazil’s largest upcycling initiative, housing a theatre, exhibition space, 34 restaurants, fashion hubs, stores, and more, whereby all materials used are either locally sourced or upcycled.
Rosewood São Paulo is a love letter to Brazil, with a majority of the design materials both locally sourced and inspired by the country’s diverse culture. The new hotel is also home to a groundbreaking collection of 450 site-specific artworks, all created in partnership with 57 local artists. It is also committed to use 100 per cent renewable energy within a year, including on-site solar panels and renewable-sourced energy. The hotel is free of single-use plastics, and has an in-house water filtration system.
When it comes to accommodation, expect bespoke luxury at your service. The hotel houses 160 rooms and suites – along with 100 Private Rosewood Suites available for sale – two pools, a cinema, a music studio, and event space. Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative wellbeing concept, is slated to open later this year.

The six lavish dining venues, from Le Jardin – serving modern cuisine 24 hours a day – to Blaise, inspired by French-Swiss novelist Blaise Cendrars, and Taraz, will leave you spoilt for choice. The elegant Le Jardin is a cozy space bathed in natural light, serving modern cuisine 24 hours a day. Blaise is a more casual brasserie space serving a delicious mix of French cuisine influenced by elements of Brazilian gastronomy. The third restaurant, Taraz, highlights South American cuisine and its share-style menu has been designed by acclaimed Chef Felipe Bronz.
Additional outlets include Rabo di Galo, a bar inspired by jazz clubs of the 1930s featuring a hand-drawn ceiling artwork by Rodrigo de Azevedo Saad who spent 68 hours on the piece, and The Emerald Garden Pool & Bar, with a tropical setting offering family-friendly fare. The pool-side Belavista Rooftop Pool & Bar, an exclusive adults-only space with panoramic views of the city.
