It’s at the heart of luxury liquor experiential bungalow Mansionz that The Tasting Room lies, guided by knowledgeable staff.
At Mansionz by Living Liquidz, you have the opportunity to transcend from your morning cuppa to a nightcap in the best way possible. At The Tasting Room, you can choose to purchase a bottle of the finest wines, beers, and spirits to take back home. Or you can simply pop it open right there! Reminiscent of evenings at New York style tasting rooms, the ambience is warm whilst maintaining its charming vibe. Situated on the second floor, the bar-style seating offers patrons the chance to delve into the specifics of their alcohol, guided by connoisseurs.
On our arrival around Valentine’s week, the rows of heart shaped balloons were telling of Mumbai’s acceptance of the venue. And with an impressive display of over 500 wines, why shouldn’t they be? From Bordeaux to Nashik, and from Sauvignon Blanc to Châteauneuf du Pape, every taste, palette and price point has founds its happy place under one roof. The friendly and extremely knowledgeable sommeliers are but a look away, always up to guide you through the art and science behind every bottle. For a novice wine enthusiast like myself, it was the perfect experiential blend of purchasing, sampling, and food pairing. Following the tasting, you’re free to indulge in the poison of your preference alongside some truly sumptuous food.
The Tasting Room is largely the culmination of the entire Mansionz philosophy. It’s an opportunity to marry the best gastronomic experience with a great beverage post tastings that allow you to make an informed decision. At request, the bartender could also happily whip you up a refreshing cocktail, and we’d recommend checking with your sommelier for the ultimate choice!
As you sit back and relax with a glass of your liking, the food menu makes for the ideal companion to your evening. Chalk full of continental delicacies, here too you’ll find a wide spectrum of flavours that cater to all kinds of palates. From the ooey gooey wonders of sticky pork on sugarcane skewers, to a refined bite of fresh seafood sushi, they’ve truly managed to curate a standout menu. What makes it all the more delightful is the speedy service, overseen by the rather punctilious aforementioned sommelier. The quality of produce shines through evidently, making for an elevated sensory experience on the whole.
What makes The Tasting Room a quintessential experience however is its anchoring role at the heart of Mansionz. The totality of it all builds up towards a memorable evening at the elegant space. An open-air cocktail bar at the ground level greets you, plush with the finest of Asian cuisines. A little further in, you might find yourself privy to a speakeasy – the entry to which is guarded via a secret code shared with a limited few. The ground floor also boasts of an impressive collection of liquor, both international and otherwise, before you head on up to taste your final choices. We’re told of the rooftop being under works to be converted into an alfresco sort of seating space, allowing you to wine and dine with scintillating views of Lower Parel skyscrapers in the background.
The Tasting Room is the ultimate juxtaposition of food and beverage enthusiasm. Unlike other stores, here’s the chance to learn more about spirits and what gives them their unique tasting notes. However, there is more – for they double up as a luxury gift store as well. A florist on board will assist you with the most distinguished arrangements. There’s also an assortment of cheese platters and candles you can select from to complement your purchase of wine or whiskey, or the option to get your bottle engraved!
The next time you find yourself looking for a premium escape from the humdrum, this is the place for you.
