Every year towards the end of October and the beginning of November, Thailand becomes the centre of one of their oldest Thai festivals Loy Krathong, the two words that mean floating and basket respectively. Sky and water lanterns light up the cities making it a stellar view to behold. Back in India, Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel is celebrating too, laying out an elaborate Thai food festival at Zega, their pan-asian restaurant.
Set to be a three-day festival from 10th to 12th November, the Thai food festival takes shape in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate of Chennai.
Thai food festival: What to expect
The elaborate food trail will whip up some of the most authentic and widely loved Thai dishes at Zega, presented as a special four-course set menu. Assembled by chef Tanawat Hoonghual, the consul’s private chef and chef Benjamin of Zega, the menu will conjure up some flavour-bursting vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes.
Think Goong Pad Namprik Phao (wok stirred prawns), Tod Mun Pla (Thai fish cake with sides), Hed pad krappao (wok tossed exotic mushrooms), Thai water chestnut rubies cheesecake and more!
That’s not all! A lively bar takeover by Diageo will line up some fabulous cocktails curated by Arun Kumar, completing this culinary pop up to its best.
The food festival will go on from 7PM until 11PM for all three days at Zega, Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel.
