Set on a secluded ridge high above the calm waters of Dal Lake with the rugged Zabarwan Hills in the backdrop, Qayaam Gah stands wrapped in serenity, reached by a country road that winds through forests and hamlets. All set to open on May 5, 2022, at 6,650 feet above the bustling Srinagar, the retreat seamlessly marries traditional and spiritual values with stylish modern amenities.

Qayaam Gah by ABChapri Retreats is small and intimate, set in the heart of three lush acres that mimic a paradise garden centred around a cascading fountain.  The grounds of the have been purposefully left undisturbed so as to welcome and encourage the abundant wildlife of the area, including native and migratory birds, shy Kashmir stags, and sloth bears that come to pick cherries in springtime!

All seven stylish and modern rooms, including four villas and three suites, are spacious and airy with ceiling-to-floor windows, offering an outdoor and indoor living balance. The beautifully-appointed rooms are complete with traditional decor, polished wooden pillars, Kashmiri carpets, Bukhari wood burning stoves, gleaming teak floors, and large bathrooms with state-of-the-art amenities. Deep mattresses and fine linen ensure a good night’s sleep after a long day of guided walks through pastures, jeep safaris, and birdwatching trips.

At Qayaam Gah, food plays a key role in shaping the stay experience. All the raw ingredients are organic and locally-sourced, resulting in mouth-watering indigenous and international dishes. A wooden-panelled dining room, Ruh combines Kashmiri design, culture, and cuisine to create a relaxed, stylish indoor-outdoor haven. QALB is the outside terrace offering wonderful views of the Vale of Kashmir, where you can enjoy your evening cup of Kashmiri tea or a sundowner as dusk descends.
