The Flying Elephant’s bold, new look

It’s been almost a decade since The Flying Elephant shook up Chennai’s luxury F&B scene. Spread over multiple levels, this dining destination offers a multi-sensory experience. It’s a homage of sorts to the OG Flying Elephant with multiple twists. The Flying Elephant’s high-profile relaunch coincided with the hotel’s 10th anniversary. After a hiatus of over two years, The Flying Elephant has opened in a new avatar. Bolder, innovative, and unscripted, its three-level architecture offers guests a multi-sensory dining experience that is unique in Chennai.

From its ground-breaking design, innovative and exceptionally executed menu and personalised service, this is among one of the city’s finest global dining experiences. It offers multiple spaces and niches that have been reimagined as part of the hotel’s recent revamp. The exhaustive menu is full of interesting twists and turns with a playful take on traditional recipes but never losing the soul of the dishes. The drinks menu is a meeting ground between progressive and classic cocktails.

Passion, innovation, and creation at The Flying Elephant

Executive Chef Balaji Natarajan and Chef de Cuisine Abhijit Bitla tap into a wide repertoire of recipes to create a unique culinary experience. The new menu encompasses familiar signature dishes, with unexpected tweaks that also pay an evolutional tribute to the regions it represents. The food is passionately prepared, thoughtfully plated, and interactively served right out of the various show kitchens around the dining floor.

The menu rounds up dishes from Southeast Asia, India, Italy, and the rest of Western Europe with a twist. Our favourites on the new menu include the Salmon Paani Puri, the Wild Mushroom Croquette Curry, and the Kimchi Chicken Tikka.  The drinks menu keeps evolving and combines classic cocktails with modern, artisanal cocktails.
