Soak up the style and tranquillity of the luxurious Mayfair at Coconut Grove. After an extensive two-year, USD50-million (INR 3,99,17,75,000) renovation, The Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Miami is reborn as a lush oasis honouring the iconic property’s glamorous past and promising its glorious future.

Tucked in 3000 Florida Avenue in the city’s historic Coconut Grove neighbourhood, the luxury property is now rebranded as Mayfair House Hotel & Garden. The hotel was originally designed by renowned Florida artist and architect Kenneth Treister in 1985. Fully transformed by New York–based interior design studio Goodrich now, the Mayfair property has officially reopened with elegantly redesigned suites, two new dining outlets, a curated selection of artworks reflective of the district’s artistic vibe.

As per Matt Goodrich, prinicpal at Goodrich, the fantastic details from the past have been carefully preserved and celebrated in the design, while new fresh layers are added to appeal the modern traveller. So, you can find some original features, such as the richly ornate wooden door that goes back 35 years and Treister’s signature archways. The fountain in the sun-filled courtyard has been transformed into a lush, gorgeous seating space featuring bold colour palette, latest furniture, and the Fountain Bar.

The idea behind redesigning the guest rooms was to make the guests feel like they have arrived in their very own private residences with separate terraces, walled gardens, and outdoor showers. Interior highlights shine through carved wooden headboards, soaking bathtubs, and custom furniture. “The garden spaces and outdoor corridors are overflowing with thick greenery and ample sunlight, while the interiors of the guest rooms provide a deeper, saturated respite, like stepping into cool shade,” said Goodrich.”

The signature Mayfair Grill restaurant is now serving wood-fired Sonoran cuisine, with a menu offering fresh, local produce and grilled dishes with flavours rooted from Arizona, Southern California, and New Mexico. A Calypso-styled rooftop pool bar, Sipsip honours the neighbourhood’s Caribbean heritage through live music, variety of rum, and agave-based cocktails.

Art is at the very heart of the reimagined Mayfair House Hotel & Garden. Think unique glass pieces by artist Jane Richardson-Mack and a stunning hand-painted mural by Bahamian artist Angelika Wallace-Whitfield on the rooftop. All event spaces are located on the same floor of the hotel to facilitate ease of movement between venues, and flexible floor plans offer a versatile array of options for every way you want to meet, celebrate, or mingle.
