Announcing the new venture on social media, Chopra said, “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with. The kitchen is helmed by the incredible Chef @harinayak, a masterful talent, who has created the most delicious and innovative menu, taking you on a food journey through my amazing country.”

The restaurant is located at 36 East 20th Street, between Park Avenue South and Broadway, and is scheduled to open its doors in March. Chef Hari Nayak, who will head the kitchen, as mentioned in Chopra’s post, helms several renowned restaurants across the world.

The project has been some time in the making, as can be seen in the photos on the actor’s social media post. Priyanka Chopra collaborated with businessman Maneesh Goyal and David Rabin, a nightlife industry veteran for the restaurant.

SONA will showcase cuisine from across the Indian subcontinent and although it’ll have an outdoor seating area, for now, it will open with limited capacity in adherence to current restrictions.
