So, we’re finally in December — which I feel is the best month of the year. The chilly winter breeze has started sweeping across the northern states, and there is a nip in the air. There’s a spring in our step, that of looking forward to an all new year, and ending what has been the year when the pandemic finally receded — or so we hope. In brief, there’s much to look forward to, even more to be thankful for.

Naturally, such gratitude, especially amid the perfect wintry breeze, beckons you to savour a drink. How can you even say no? This is exactly why we’ve begun our month by curating a list of the finest single malt whiskies that you can get your hands on. Every single malt aficionado will tell you that there are five Scottish regions that produce the ultimate whiskies. Out of them, two — Highland and Speyside — are perhaps the best known. It is, thus, telling that one of the most coveted single malt whiskies on our list actually comes from a different region — Islay.
Savour our list of the finest single malts, but don’t forget to quiz your mates this party season with this little piece of trivia!
But it’s not just for the purists of the world of spirits that the season is ripe. If you’d rather savour a cocktail instead, we’ve got the right hue for you. There is perhaps no season like winter to flaunt the colour red — so why not do that in your cocktails, too? We’ve got cocktails based on bourbon, single malt whiskey, gin, tequila, prosecco and vodka. One for every choice? You bet!
And on this rather high note (every pun intended), here’s wishing you a great week ahead!
