Hello there! Or should I say, ho ho ho? Well, we are just two days away from Christmas, and the festive spirit is running high as the temperatures dip lower! The reds and greens, with tiny sparkles, can be seen in the beautifully decorated restaurants and bars, eggnog and mulled wine flow aplenty, and boozy Christmas puddings and plum cakes give us great warmth and company. It truly is a great time of the year!

They say that good times always fly by and leave us with the sweetest of memories to cherish, and well, here we are at the end of one more year and counting down to the beginning of another. Most restaurants and bars across the country have put their best feet forward with the most elaborate and decadent festive menus that you might want to indulge in, with your loved ones. For a lowdown on the best options in your city, let us spoil you for choices with our shortlist!

Edit note 1

But what if you’d rather surprise your family with some home-made mess? We’re talking about the classic Eton Mess here. Home chef Namrata Ahuja shares a deliciously messy recipe of this classic English pudding in our video of the week. The popular story about the origin of Eton Mess is believed to be credited to a cricket match taking place in Eton college in the 1920s, where a Pavlova that was meant to be a treat for the boys was crushed by an overexcited dog.

The result, as we see Ahuja recreate, was “messy”. But, the boys had it anyway and loved it, but apparently the dessert traces its origin way way back to the 1700s as per old novels and documents. Take a look at this evergreen treat on our channel!

We leave you for the weekend on this rather festive note, and wish you a very Merry Christmas in advance. See you next week!
