From daring cut-outs to bottoms dipping down the belly button, the latest fashion trends for 2022 are all about being bold and making statements.
A new year in the fashion world means a wave of trends and a chance to revamp our wardrobes. While 2021 went by swiftly with us jamming at home in our pyjamas, 2022 is all ready to set a new bar in the glam game. From some fresh new unpredicted ideas that we didn’t see coming, to the looks from the past that the world can just not let go of yet, here’s a rundown of latest fashion trends for 2022.
Top 5 Fashion Trends for 2022
Catsuits
If you thought body-hugging onesies only belonged among your yoga outfits or sleepwear, think again. Single-piece bodysuits in vibrant prints and popping colours are going to be all the rage this year. And before you feel it’s too wild, know that everyone from Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid on the runway to Kim Kardashian on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live to fashion-town queens Rihanna, Beyonce, and Miley Cyrus have already worn it!
Bra tops
It seems like the days when we despised and at times, even dared to ditch bras are over but for good. The new year has brought along the new trend of bra tops and we are totally digging it! It’s time you wholeheartedly embrace a bra top while on your way to work, gym, or even a party. Turn up your look by pairing it with an oversized power suit or high-slit skirt, and be ready to take over the (glam) world!
Low-rise bottoms
Now, this one is only for the ones who aren’t shy about baring it up a bit. Low-rise bottoms are loose, sitting comfortably at the hips and revealing just a hint of midriff. You might get a Britney Spears thong-revealing jeans flashback from early 2000s, but these low-slung trousers, denims, and skirts dipping right below the belly button, if done right, can be a total game-changer for your wardrobe.
Cut-outs
Unless you are living under a giant, very unfashionable rock, chances are you must have already seen unexpected cut-out works make their way up in the hot trending list of trends. Sexy and risky at the same time, these cut-outs in body-con dresses, denims, and bodysuits, range from cross-body to elegant necklines and side cuts.
Very peri
Pantone’s Colour of 2022 is so chic this time that we just can’t keep from gushing about it. ‘Very Peri’ aka periwinkle is Pantone’s prediction for the year, and the colour has already started dominating the fashion charts across the world. Light lilac, lavender blue to deep purple, all the shades in peri family go well when met with a clash with other bold colours like a bright yellow or green (since unexpected bold colour combination is another trend to watch out for!).
