The international award is yet another feather in the Oberoi group’s cap, and certainly a well-deserved one.
The news is just out. Oberoi Hotels & Resorts has been voted the World’s Best Hotel Brand at the Travel + Leisure, USA World’s Best Awards, 2022. These awards, considered some of the most prestigious in the travel industry, are a result of a poll conducted amongst the US-based publication’s 9.5 million readers.
The Readers’ Poll is not only about actual experiences of global travellers, but also about the perception of informed individuals worldwide. So, although not all of those polled may have stayed at an Oberoi property, the fact that they voted it as the World’s Best Brand does say a lot for how its reputation for excellence precedes it.
This reputation has been hard won, against some of the world’s most formidable hospitality conglomerates, some with hotels on every continent. In contrast, Oberoi, with 32 hotels and resorts in seven countries, is akin to ‘the little engine that could’, repeatedly winning accolades for its top notch quality, service, and design. And above all, its absolute attention to detail and guest experience.
In the recent polls, apart from winning Best Hotel Brand, The Oberoi, New Delhi has also been voted the World’s Best City Hotel in Asia; The Oberoi, Marrakech has won Best Resort in North Africa & the Middle East; and The Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur adjudged the Best Resort in India.
Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman, The Oberoi Group, while expressing delight at the recognition, says, “We are honoured to have contributed in our own small way to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. My heartfelt gratitude to our valued guests for their continued support and our exceptional colleagues for their dedication and commitment to excellence.”
Meanwhile, Vikram Oberoi, CEO & MD, The Oberoi Group observes, “The awards are an affirmation of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts unwavering commitment towards offering guests exceptional facilities and unparalleled levels of service. Our founder Rai Bahadur MS Oberoi and our former Chairman and mentor PRS Oberoi have always maintained that people are our most important asset — time and again our colleagues live up to this enduring belief.”
Indeed. It’s the incredible teams, the people behind the brand, that have shaped it into a name that’s recognised and loved globally.
