Unwind with daily yoga sessions, wellness therapies and cultural performances by the Ganga at the week-long 2021 edition of the International Yog Festival in Rishikesh.
If you’re looking for some zen after the chaos that was 2020, head to Uttarakhand this March for the International Yog Festival. Organised by the state tourism ministry, this edition will run from March 1 to March 7 at Rishikesh.
The week-long event will explore traditional, contemporary and therapeutic yoga practises over multiple sessions through the day at Rishikesh. Participants can also sign up to learn more about alternative therapies such as ayurveda, acupressure, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, naturopathy, chakra healing and pranic healing. Also on the schedule are talks by personalities such as lifestyle coach and ISKCON member Gaur Gopal Das and Sister BK Shivani. In the evening you can unwind with performances by Hansraj Raghuvanshi, Ritesh Mishra, Bollywood playback singer Mohit Chauhan and former Indian Ocean guitarist Susmit Sen. The venue will also include a small market where you can shop for wellness goods, handicrafts and so on.
The International Yog Festival will be hosted at the Ganga Resort, which means as you find your centre, you can enjoy views of the Ganga river, the Ram Jhula bridge and the Garhwal mountains. Both week-long and daily packages are available with rates starting at Rs 3,999 a day. These include a pick-up and drop-off shuttle from your hotel to the venue, all meals (vegetarian only) and passes to attend the opening and closing ceremonies and cultural performances.
