Preeti Verma Lal

In a world where everyone wants to be seen, Preeti Verma Lal prefers being invisible (that's why no photograph). But if you bump into someone with waist-long hair, her eyes lined with thick (really thick) kohl and a pearl in the gold nose ring, perhaps it is her. Having worked in the United States and India as a journalist, she now freelances as a writer/photographer for various publications in India and abroad. On a good day, she edits manuscripts, dabbles in Urdu calligraphy, makes pickles and crochets. Fluent in Hindi, Urdu, English, Magahi (dialect) and currently learning Persian, she calls writing her salvation and words as the only staircase to heaven. Having trudged the world on various writing assignments, she now lives in Goa.
